Soziale Arbeit findet ganz überwiegend mit Bezug zu familialen Lebenskontexten statt. Wesentliche Beratungsangebote Soziale Arbeit adressieren Eltern etwa zur Förderung und Unterstützung von Erziehungs- und Alltagsgestaltung. Dabei werden Leitbilder „guter“ Mutter- sowie Vaterschaft virulent. In der Veranstaltung werden pädagogische und geschlechterkritische Perspektiven auf Leitbilder und Praxen von Elternschaft bezogen und mit dem praxeologischen Konzept des „Doing Family“ als Doing Motherhood sowie Doing Fatherhood verknüpft. Auf dieser theoretischen Grundlegung werden aktuelle Phänomene von „involvierter“ oder „fassadenhafter“ Vaterschaft, genderqueerem Co-Parenting bis „tradwifes“, „attachment parenting“ und sozialer Deprivation von Alleinerziehenden diskutiert.
