300261 Einführung in die quantitativen Methoden/Introduction to quantitative methods (MA) (V) (WiSe 2024/2025)

Contents, comment

The lecture will be held in German and English.

In this introductory lecture elementary statistical methods are explained. The selection of the presented methods is based on current research practice in empirical social science research. At the end of the lectures the participants are able to understand and interpret statistics and empirical analyses published in academic journals. In addition, the participants acquire a methodical guide that allows them to evaluate analytical strategies and provides them a rough, initial orientation when developing their own empirical research projects. The lecture is aimed at all those who want to refresh their statistical knowledge and enables university switchers to adapt to the statistical level in Bielefeld sociology.
