Dieser Satz wird mit Hilfe der Riemannschen Zetafunktion

bewiesen, wobei zunehmend verfeinerte Methoden aus der Funktionentheorie jeweils bessere Fehlerschranken ermöglichen. Die bestmöglichen Fehlerschranken gelten, falls die Riemannsche Vermutung richtig ist.
