Evaluationen, Audits, Rankings und Ratings haben als neue Formen der Steuerung von öffentlichen, aber auch privaten Organisationen nicht nur an Bedeutung zugelegt, sondern auch in der soziologischen Diskussion besondere Aufmerksamkeit erlangt. In diesem Seminar werden grundlegende Konzepte der neu entstehenden Quantifizierungssoziologie erarbeitet und an Fallbeispielen (Universität, Krankenhaus oder Gefängnisse) werden wichtige Thesen empirisch näher untersucht. Dazu werden schon publizierte Fallstudien, aber auch Forschungsdaten aus einem laufenden Forschungsprojekt (QUAD: http://www.uni-bielefeld.de/soz/las/ag_huber/QUAD/OverviewQUAD.html) verwendet.
