250220 Medienbildung und queere Repräsentation - Von queer reading, queerbaiting und Heteronormativität im Kontext digitaler Medien (S) (SoSe 2024)

Das Seminar widmet sich, im Rahmen der Idee einer inklusiven Medienbildung, Fragen nach Darstellungen von Vielfalt in digitalen Medien mit besonderem Fokus auf queere Repräsentation. Im Zentrum stehen dabei u.a. Praktiken des queer readings, queer codings und queerbaitings sowie der Reflexion von Heteronormativität. Für diese Auseinandersetzung werden Einführungen in Begriffe der Queer Studies, Diversity Studies sowie Perspektiven auf Medienbildung gegeben. Dabei finden sowohl transformatorische als auch praxistheoretische Bildungstheorien Anwendung. Weiterführend werden Kulturen und Praktiken von Fandoms untersucht, welche mediale Sphären im Schnittfeld der Medienbildung und queeren Perspektiven besonders kennzeichnen und diese Diskurse prägen. Ziel des Seminars wird die theoretische und kreative Auseinandersetzung mit medialen Repräsentationen vor dem Hintergrund (medien-)bildungstheoretischer Perspektiven und gesamtgesellschaftlicher Bestrebungen nach Inklusion sein.
