220076 Geschichte der peinlichen Strafe (S) (WiSe 2012/2013)

Contents, comment

Körperstrafen und Hinrichtungen kennzeichnen im Rückblick wie keine andere Sanktion die mittelalterliche und frühneuzeitliche Rechtspraxis. Das Seminar will die Anwendung der peinlichen Strafen und ihren Stellenwert im Sanktionensystem genauer untersuchen. Daraus ergeben sich als mögliche Themen die Sprache der Rituale, die Wahrnehmung der peinlichen Strafen durch Obrigkeit und Zuschauer, der Einfluss der Religion auf Rechtsprechung und Ausgestaltung der Strafen sowie die Wandlungen der Strafpraxis in der beginnenden Neuzeit.
