Der jüdische Glaube war der einzige nichtchristliche Glaube, der im vormodernen Europa von den Mehrheitschristen geduldet wurde. Doch diese angebliche Toleranz hatte ihren Preis. Das Seminar will den sozialen und gesellschaftlichen Ort der europäischen Juden untersuchen, Formen der Integration analysieren, aber auch Verfolgung, Ausgrenzung und Stigmatisierung thematisieren.
