Contents, comment

The lecture will give an introduction to the mathematical analysis of a variety of probabilisitic models from statistical mechanics, biology or economics that describe interacting particles, agents or species. More precisely, we will discuss:

background on Markov processes (semigroups,generators, construction, ... )
study of landmark models (Ising model, contact process, exclusion process, ... )
qualitative phenomena (stationary states, phase transitions,...)
important techniques for analysing IPS (couplings, duality,...)
