Männlichkeitsgeschichte boomt seit mittlerweile 30 Jahren. Das Grundseminar erörtert theoretische Perspektiven der Geschlechtergeschichte sowie historiographische Verschiebungen in den letzten Jahrzehnten, immer mit Blick auf Geschichte und Analyse von Männlichkeit(en), aber auch mit Blick auf das Verhältnis von Frauen-, Männer- und Geschlechtergeschichte. Außerdem werden wir Fallbeispiele für die deutsche und außerdeutsche moderne Geschichte diskutieren. Der Kurs zielt darauf ab, das Verständnis der Kategorie Geschlecht zu erarbeiten, und lädt zu einer kritischen Auseinandersetzung mit historiographischen Debatten ein.
