Täglich produzieren wir unvorstellbar große Datenmengen, die wir kaum noch erfassen oder ins Verhältnis setzen können. Die Veranstaltung eröffnet eine medienpädagogische Perspektive auf den Umgang mit und die Kommunikation von Daten und bearbeitet die Frage, welches Potenzial kreativen und spielerischen Zugängen zu Daten und Datenpraktiken für eine kritische Reflexion innewohnt. Unter Bezugnahme zu einschlägiger Literatur werden in einem ersten Schritt unterschiedliche Konzeptionen von Daten, Small Data und Big Data erarbeitet. In einem zweiten Schritt wird der Literacy Begriff aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven beleuchtet, um darauf aufbauend kreative Zugänge und ihre Potenziale für außerschulische aber auch schulische Medienpädagogik zu diskutieren.
Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, ein medienpädagogisches Grundverständnis über das Verhältnis von Daten und Algorithmenstrukturen zu bekommen und pädagogische Handlungsfelder im Umgang mit digitalen Technologien und künstlerischen Medienpraktiken zu thematisieren.
