230231 Gastrecht und Gastfreundschaft in der Literatur (S) (SoSe 2016)

Gastlichkeit, Gastfreundschaft und Gastrecht befassen sich immer schon mit der Ankunft des Anderen bzw. mit Fragen der Begrüßung und Anerkennung des Fremden. Alle Kulturen und Zeiten kennen die Aufnahme geladener und „ungeladener“ Gäste und die rituelle Beschäftigung mit der prekären Schwelle zwischen Gast und Gastgeber, Willkommen und Abschied, Bewirtung und Ungastlichkeit. Von der Antike bis zum Mittelalter stellte das Gastrecht (ius hospitalis) einen heilig gehaltenen Brauch dar, der erst seit der Entstehung der Nationalstaaten von einem Ausländerrecht abgelöst wurde und seit dem 19. Jahrhundert im Völker- und Menschenrecht fortbesteht.
Das Seminar behandelt dieses hochaktuelle Thema an theoretischen und literarischen Texten vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart.
