Soziale Arbeit muss notwendigerweise Unterscheidungen treffen, schon um festzustellen, wer mit welcher Begründung Klient*in Sozialer Arbeit wird. Mit der Perspektive ‚Differenz‘ gerät die Wirkmächtigkeit von Unterscheidungen in den Blick. Unterscheidungen beschreiben nicht einfach Unterschiede, sondern bringen sie sozial hervor. Diese Erkenntnis allein ist jedoch noch nicht handlungsrelevant, denn sowohl das ‚Sehen‘ als auch das ‚Übersehen‘ von Unterschieden können angemessen oder problematisch sein.
Mit einer macht- bzw. herrschaftskritischen Perspektive lassen sich die jeweiligen Konsequenzen von Unterscheidungen analysieren, und Unterscheidungspraxen lassen sich kritisieren und/ oder begründen. Wann und auf welche Weise werten Unterscheidungen z.B. ab? Welche Konsequenzen hat die – wohlmeinende – Anerkennung von Differenz? Welche Unterscheidungen braucht es, um Benachteiligungen zu vermeiden?
Im Seminar werden wir uns mit einer solchen differenz- und machttheoretischen Perspektive befassen und sie anhand von Studien und Beispielen auf sozialpädagogische Praxis beziehen.Studienleistungen können durch kurze Beiträge zum Seminar erworben werden.
