Die ethnomethodologische Konversationsanalyse, entwickelt von Harvey Sacks, interessiert sich für die Herstellung von Sozialität im Kleinen, Alltäglichen, im selbstverständlichen Miteinander von Menschen. Erst die (Re-)Produktion von gesellschaftlichen Strukturen, Erwartungen und Regeln in der Interaktion macht diese relevant. Gleichzeitig können wir diese in ihrer Herstellung und lokalen Bedeutung auch präzise beschreiben, wenn wir ernstnehmen, was Akteure miteinander tun – in Abgrenzung davon, was wir darüber glauben (Theorie) oder was sie darüber sagen (Befragung).
Das Seminar beleuchtet Aspekte der Entwicklung einer Fragestellung, des Feldzugangs und der Datenerhebung sowie Datenanalyse anhand der Methode der ethnomethodologischen Konversationsanalyse. Dabei werden zunächst Grundlagen der konversationsanalytischen Forschung vermittelt bzw. vertieft und schließlich die Konzeption und eigenständigen Durchführung eigener Forschungsvorhaben in einem Setting natürlicher Interaktion angeleitet.Das Seminar findet als Distance Learning Format statt. Es verknüpft synchrone (Webkonferenz) und asynchrone (Selbststudium) Elemente. Die synchronen Treffen finden zu den ausgewiesenen Kurszeiten statt.

Sie sollten ein erstes Grundverständnis des methodologischen Zugangs und der analytischen Vorgehensweise der Konversationsanalyse mitbringen.
Vorausgesetzt wird außerdem die Bereitschaft, eigenverantwortlich ein Forschungsprojekt (Feldzugang, Datenerhebung, Datenaufbereitung) durchzuführen und die eigenen Daten zur gemeinsamen Datenanalyse zur Verfügung zu stellen, ebenso wie sich in der Analyse der Daten der anderen Kursteilnehmer_innen zu engagieren.
