Die "linguistische Wende" zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts fußte auf der Annahme, dass der Untersuchung von Sachverhalten die Klärung der dazu herangezogenen begrifflichen Mittel vorangehen müsse. Die Vorlesung stellt die Grundlagen der aus dieser Orientierung erwachsenen Tradition der "Analytischen Philosophie" vor, die auf eine "logische Analyse" der Sprache abzielt. Inhaltlich konzentriert sich diese Überblicksveranstaltung zum Modul "Sprachphilosophie" auf Versuche der Explikation des Bedeutungsbegriffs sowie der Klärung des Verhältnisses von Sprache und Wirklichkeit. Im Einzelnen stehen die sprachphilosophischen Konzeptionen des Wiener Kreises, Quines, des späten Wittgenstein und der daraus erwachsenen Kontexttheorie sowie die auf Kripkes Theorie der Eigennamen zurückgehende kausale Theorie der Referenz im Vordergrund.
Eine Leistungsbescheinigung (BA- oder Master of Education-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für regelmäßige Teilnahme sowie die Bearbeitung von Aufgaben oder zwei Kurzessays.
Ein Leistungsnachweis (Magister- oder Lehramts-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für
eine Hausarbeit.
