In politischen und ökonomischen Regulierungstheorien wird oft angenommen, dass rationale Akteure Kalküle darüber anstellen, wie sehr es zu ihrem Vorteil ist, rechtlichen Regeln zu folgen. Regeln des Umweltschutzes wird also gefolgt, sofern die Kosten ihrer Umsetzung und Strafen nicht die möglichen Gewinne durch Regelverletzung deutlich überschreiten. Statt aber von einem kollektiv verbindlichen Kalkül auszugehen, nimmt dieses Seminar seinen Ausgangspunkt in den einzelnen Organisationen und fragt, wie rechtliche Regulierungen von Organisationen wahrgenommen, interpretiert und verarbeitet werden. Ausgehend von den mehr oder weniger großen Interpretationsspielräumen von Organisationen, werden anhand der Literatur einerseits Anpassungs- und Übersetzungsprozesse in verschiedenen Organisationstypen rekonstruiert und andererseits die Entstehung von Organisationsrecht betrachtet.
