Der evangelische Theologe Ernst Troeltsch hat um 1920 gemeint, die theologische Meisterleistung des modernen Protestantismus würde nicht als Dogmatik oder als System verfasst, sondern in Form eines umfassenden Lehrgedichts oder Romans. Troeltsch hat diesen Roman ausdrücklich mit Blick auf Dante Alighieris (Göttliche) Komödie am Ende des Mittelalters gefordert. Diese Bewertung lässt aufhorchen. Welche theologische Bedeutung kommt Dantes Text überhaupt zu? Hat dieser Text des 'katholischen Mittelalters' einen 'evangelischen Sinn'? Mit diesen Fragen im Hinterkopf - aber auch als Selbstzweck - liest das Seminar Dantes Text in Auswahl.
