Depending on the development of the corona pandemic, this lecture will take place as an online or face-to-face lecture. Further information on this will be communicated in good time before the start of the lecture.

The lecture will be held in German and English.

In this introductory lecture elementary statistical methods are explained. The selection of the presented methods is based on current research practice in empirical social science research. At the end of the lectures the participants are able to understand and interpret statistics and empirical analyses published in academic journals. In addition, the participants acquire a methodical guide that allows them to evaluate analytical strategies and provides them a rough, initial orientation when developing their own empirical research projects.
The lecture is aimed at all those who want to refresh their statistical knowledge and enables university switchers to adapt to the statistical level in Bielefeld sociology.
