Improvisation [lat. ex. improviso = „ohne Vorbereitung“] bezeichnet das spontane Erfinden und Ausführen melodischer, harmonischer und rhythmischer Abläufe. Auch wenn Improvisationen häufig „ohne Vorbereitung“ durchgeführt werden, so erfolgen sie in der Regel dennoch auf Grundlage von Erfahrungen und Strategien. In dieser Basiswerkstatt werden Kreativitäts- und Improvisationstechniken erprobt, auf verschiedene musikalisch-künstlerische Kontexte angewandt und anhand wissenschaftlicher Begleittexte reflektiert. Ein wesentliches Ziel ist ein Repertoire an Grundfähigkeiten und Inszenierungstechniken für die schulische Musizierpraxis.
