Das Ziel der Veranstaltung ist die gemeinsame Erarbeitung und Ermittlung der Funktionen von Humor in der politischen Kommunikation. Die Veranstaltung geht in vier Schritten vor: Die Grundlagen werden durch Texte gelegt, die sich mit der Definition von Humor, den unterschiedlichen Formen und Gattungen von Humor und den zugrundeliegenden Relationen von Kommunikation unter besonderem Bezug auf politische Herrschaft und Macht widmen. In einem zweiten Schritt widmet sich die Veranstaltung der Nutzung von Humor im Sinne der Macht, etwa im sog. Politainment. In einem dritten Anschnitt wird auf Kritik durch Humor eingegangen, etwa auf politische Satire. Der vierte Teil der Veranstaltung geht dann auf die ironische Subjektivierung als einer besonderen Form der Bürgerschaft in der ‚Post-Demokratie‘ ein.
