Im Rahmen des Seminars wird die Entwicklung von Kindern und Jugendlichen näher beleuchtet. Inhaltliche Schwerpunkte werden bei der kognitiven (z.B. Intelligenz) und sozialen Entwicklung (z.B. Identität) gesetzt. Es werden vor allem Theorien vertieft, die im Rahmen der Vorlesung "Psychologie für die Schule" vorgestellt werden. Zudem wird erarbeitet, wie Lehrkräfte Einfluss auf die Entwicklung von Schülerinnen und Schülern nehmen (können).

Es wird von allen Teilnehmern eine regelmäßige Teilnahme und aktive Mitarbeit erwartet. Dazu gehört insbesondere die individuelle Bearbeitung von spezifischen Arbeitsaufträgen im Seminar. Weiterhin übernimmt jeder Teilnehmer/jede Teilnehmerin einen Kurz-Input in einer Seminarsitzung. Dies beinhaltet z.B. die Vorbereitung und Durchführung von Erarbeitungsphasen, kurze inhaltliche Impulse und/oder die Vorstellung von relevanten Studien.
