270133 Attitudes and Persuasion (S) (SoSe 2017)

Contents, comment

Building on content that was part of the BSc curriculum, this seminar will focus on advanced issues in attitude and persuasion research. We will read and discuss mainly recent research articles. Part of the course may be devoted to developing and discussing study designs.

Topics will include:
- associative and propositional levels of attitudinal processing
- dual- vs single-processing models of persuasion
- lateral attitude change
- implicit measurement of attitudes.

Requirements for participation, required level

Students who wish to participate are kindly requested to register for the course via e-mail to the Social Psychology office: fatma.akkaya-willis@uni-bielefeld.de (Mrs. Fatma Akkaya-Willis). When registering, please indicate your Matrikelnummer and program of study. Also, please sign up here in the eKVV.

This seminar will be held in English. This means that *all* materials, communications, and correspondence will be in English. Participating students should thus be comfortable with reading English literature, completing English-language homework assignments, and contributing actively to discussions in English each week.

The seminar forms part of MSc module 27-M-G (G.2 or G.3) and should be taken in either the second or third semester
