Die Frage des Skeptikers - "Können wir überhaupt irgendetwas wissen?" - ist von zentraler Bedeutung für die Erkenntnistheorie. In diesem Seminar werden wir anhand von Originaltexten untersuchen, wie wichtige Philosophen von Sextus Empiricus über René Descartes bis hin zu Hilary Putnam auf die skeptischen Herausforderung reagiert haben und anschließend diskutieren, ob ihre Argumente überzeugend sind. Dabei werden wir nicht nur den "globalen" Skeptizismus berücksichtigen (d.h. den Skeptizismus, der Wissen generell betrifft), sondern auch auf "lokale" skeptische Positionen eingehen (also z.B. auf Positionen, die die Berechtigung von Induktionsschlüssen oder unser Wissen über die mentalen Zustände anderer Menschen in Zweifel ziehen).
Eine Leistungsbescheinigung (BA- oder Master of Education-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für drei schriftliche Einzelleistungen, die individuell besprochen werden.
