Im Zentrum des Seminars steht die Frage, wie wir (nicht-menschliche) Tiere behandeln sollen. Es soll geklärt werden, inwieweit Tiere moralisch zu berücksichtigen sind und ob unser derzeitiger Umgang mit Tieren – wie z.B. ihre Nutzung als ‚Fleischlieferanten‘ oder für Tierversuche – moralisch gerechtfertigt ist.
Textgrundlage für das Seminar sind klassische Aufsätze der modernen Tierethikdebatte. Alle Texte liegen in deutscher Übersetzung vor. Vorkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich.
