Pflanzen müssen sich gegen diverse abiotische und biotische Umweltfaktoren schützen. Dies können sie mit Hilfe mechanischer Strukturen aber auch unterschiedlicher chemischer Komponenten bewerkstelligen. In diesem Projektmodul sollen verschiedene pflanzliche Abwehrmechanismen von mechanischen und chemischen Strukturen der pflanzlichen Oberfläche hin zu primären und sekundären Inhaltsstoffen, Enzymen und Proteinen in Blättern vorgestellt werden und deren ökologische Funktionen experimentell veranschaulicht werden, insbesondere in Wechselwirkung mit herbivoren Insekten. Ziel dieses Moduls ist das Kennenlernen und Anwenden unterschiedlicher chemisch-analytischer Nachweismethoden, sowie die Hypothesen-orientierte Entwicklung und Durchführung von Laborexperimenten, um ökologische Zusammenhänge zu überprüfen und zu verstehen. Leistungsnachweis: Abschlusstestat.
