Das Seminar unterstützt bei der Vorbereitung und Themenfindung für Studierende, die eine wissenschaftliche Arbeit in der Didaktik der Mathematik im Semester beginnen möchten. Es werden die notwendigen theoretischen Grundlagen erarbeitet und die eigenen empirischen Studien geplant. Dabei sollen die Teilnehmer ihre Arbeiten (auch die im Planungsstadium) im Laufe des Seminars präsentieren. In einer gemeinsamen kritischen Diskussion in der Gruppe werden Hilfen gegeben, Planungen können angepasst werden, eine mögliche theoretische In-kohärenz aufgezeigt oder andere Schwächen aufgezeigt werden. Bereits gelungene Arbeiten können als Vorbild dienen. In der gemeinsamen Diskussion werden immer wieder Aspekte auftauchen, die für alle Beteiligten interessant sind und die dann vertieft werden können.
