289659 Introduction to Random Matrix Theory (V) (WiSe 2016/2017)

Contents, comment

The course shall give an introduction in the basic concepts of differential geometry like fibre bundles, parallel transport, metric, connection, geodesic transport, interior and exterior curvature. Thereby a brief outlook to discrete differential geometry on lattices is given since the unified concepts apply to those systems as well. All concepts presented will be illustrated by examples from general relativity, non-Abelian field theory, quantum mechanics and hydrodynamics to establish an understanding of the relationships and links between these different theories in physics.
