Die Veranstaltung umfasst 3 LVS, d.h. eine entsprechende Anzahl von Veranstaltungsterminen finden nicht statt.
In der Vorlesung werden verschiedene Aspekte der Anwendungen der Mathematik behandelt. Zum einen sollen mathematische Modelle mithilfe elementarer analytischer Werkzeuge untersucht, zum anderen sollen anhand stochastischer Modelle die Grundideen der Wahrscheinlichkeitsrechnung erarbeitet werden. Darüber hinaus werden kombinatorische Fragestellungen diskutiert.
