Die Editionswissenschaft beschäftigt sich mit der kritischen Sichtung der Überlieferung eines (literarischen) Textes, der Edition und Kommentierung, die einen historischen Text zuverlässig erschließen hilft. Im Projektseminar wird versucht, den Text der "Geschichtklitterung" (1590) von Johann Fischart mit einem Kommentar so zu erschließen, dass Defizite heutiger Leser auf den Gebieten der Geschichte, Relgion, Politik, der wissensvermittelnden und unterhaltenden Literatur ausgeglichen werden können. Das Seminar wird die Teilnehmer mit einer Reihe von Hilfsmitteln für die Kommentierung älterer historischer Texte vertraut machen und leitet sie an zum Einstieg in die wissenschaftliche Editorik und Kommentierung. Die Studierenden können mit der eigenständigen Erschließung eines kleineren Wissensgebiets (Ehelehre; historisches Exempel; Alchemie; Medizin; Konfessionen; Unterhaltungsliteratur; Liedgut; Kinderspiele etc.) einen Kommentarbereich auswählen, aus dem heraus sie ihre Prüfungsleistung (Hausarbeit) erbringen.
