Der fragmentrisch erhaltene Roman des Petron bietet einen interessanten Einblick die Welt des "anderen" antiken Romans: Petron läßt zwei männliche Protagonisten zusammen (oder auch nicht) Abenteuer erleben. Eines davon ist das bekannte Gastmahl des Trimalchio, dem wir uns u.a. widmen werden.
Im Seminar wollen wir untersuchen, welches Bild der römischen Privat-Gesellschaft Petron entstehen läßt und wie er die Gattung 'Roman' interpretiert.
