250383 Comparative International perspectives on Education: Inclusive teaching and learning materials (BIP) (BS) (SoSe 2026)

Contents, comment

Comparative International Perspectives on Education: Inclusive Teaching and Learning Materials is an international Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) that offers students the opportunity to explore education systems, inclusion, and diversity from a comparative European perspective. Together with students and lecturers from several European universities, participants will examine how different countries address inclusion, participation, and diversity in schools and teacher education.

A particular focus of the programme is the analysis of inclusive teaching and learning materials. Students will work with authentic educational materials from different national contexts and reflect on how diversity is represented and supported in classroom practices. In multinational teams, participants collaboratively develop and apply criteria for evaluating inclusive educational materials.

The programme combines virtual collaboration with an intensive on-site week in Bielefeld. Students engage in international group work, comparative discussions, workshops, and school-related practical insights while exchanging perspectives on educational systems and inclusive practices across Europe. The course follows a flipped-classroom approach and encourages active participation, intercultural exchange, and collaborative learning.

The physical mobility phase takes place in Bielefeld and includes lectures, workshops, collaborative projects, and presentations in international groups.

The programme is designed for students in teacher education, educational sciences, inclusive and special education, and related fields who are interested in international perspectives on education, inclusion, and diversity.
