"Das viertägige Blockseminar dient der Einführung in die Datenanalyse mit der Statistiksoftware Stata. Vorkenntnisse im Umgang mit dem Programm sind nicht notwendig, sondern sollen in diesem Kurs erlernt werden. Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei ein Überblick über die Grundlagen und den Aufbau des Programms, die Eingabe, den Import und die Aufbereitung von Daten (Tag 1 und 2), grundlegende uni- und bivariate Analysen und (einfache) grafische Darstellungsmöglichkeiten (Tag 3 und 4).
Die Datengrundlage bilden die frei zugänglichen Datensätze des ALLBUS 2012 und 2014.
Auch (leicht) Fortgeschrittene, die bereits vorhandene Kenntnisse auffrischen oder erweitern wollen, sind gerne willkommen.
Grundlegende Kenntnisse in Statistik (Häufigkeiten, Mittelwerte, Streuungs- und Zusammenhangsmaße, etc.) sind wünschenswert.

Notwendig ist lediglich ein Zugang zu den Computern der Fakultät für Soziologie. Die Zugangsdaten für die dortigen Computer entsprechen nicht denen des HRZ.
