Methods and models of neurolinguistics are introduced through an examination of written language processing and written language disorders. The course examines the acquisition of written language in children, as well as neurotypical processing in adults with normal language abilities and acquired reading and writing disorders (such as aphasia and semantic dementia). Research questions and functional models in reading research are explored based on current studies.
