Das Seminar führt in die Grundlagen der Dramenanalyse ein und vermittelt das methodische Handwerkszeug für die wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mit dramatischen Texten und ihren Aufführungen. Ausgehend von Franziska Schößlers 'Einführung in die Dramenanalyse' werden zentrale Analysekategorien wie Gattung, Handlung, Figuren, Sprache, Raum, Zeit und Aufführung systematisch erarbeitet und in praktischen Übungen verknüpft.
Die theoretischen Grundlagen werden durch die gemeinsame Lektüre ausgewählter Dramen zum Semesterende vertieft, mit denen literaturgeschichtliche Kenntnisse zur Entwicklung des modernen Dramas sowie ein Verständnis für das Zusammenspiel von Text, Raum und Aufführung entwickelt werden sollen. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Einraumdramen – vom Kammerspiel um die Jahrhundertwende bis hin zu zeitgenössischen Formen wie der sogenannten 'Bottle Episode' in TV-Serien. Anhand dieser Texte wird untersucht, wie räumliche Begrenzung dramatische Konflikte hervorbringt, Figurenkonstellationen prägt und ästhetische Wirkungen erzeugt. Vorstellbar ist auch ein gemeinsamer Theaterbesuch etwa zur Aufführung von Ibsens 'Nora. Ein Puppenheim' am Theater Bielefeld.
