Die UN-Konvention über die Rechte von Menschen mit Behinderung wurde von der Bundesrepublik Deutschland 2006 ratifiziert. Im Artikel 24 wird das Recht auf Bildung aller Menschen, ob mit oder ohne Behinderung, in einem inklusiven Bildungssystem als Menschenrecht unwiderruflich festgeschrieben. Inklusion ist – dies zeigen die aktuellen Entwicklungen in den Bundesländern - damit zu einem umfassenden Reformanliegen auch im deutschen Bildungssystem geworden. Im internationalen Vergleich ist Deutschland bis heute eines der „Schlusslichter“ schulischer Inklusion. Im Seminar wird daher im Sinne eines „Blickes über den Tellerrand“ nach Beispielen gesucht, wie andere Bildungssysteme mit der Herausforderung der Schaffung eines „inclusive school systems at all levels“ umgehen. Als Gastdozentin wird daher Dr. Kristine Black-Hawkins/University of Cambridge (https://www.educ.cam.ac.uk/people/staff/black-hawkins/) gemeinsam mit Prof.in Bettina Amrhein das Seminar gestalten. Es wird ein Einblick in die Inklusionsentwicklungen verschiedener Länder gegeben. Ein Schwerpunkt liegt auf dem englischen Bildungssystem.
