Die Studierenden kennen grundlegende Konzepte der Kinetik wie Geschwindigkeitsgesetz und Reaktionsordnung. Sie verstehen die Temperaturabhängigkeit von Reaktionen und den Einfluss eines Katalysators auf die Aktivierungsenergie.

Die Studierenden kennen grundlegende chemische Reaktionen wie Addition und Eliminierung, Substitutionsreaktionen wie Kondensation und Hydrolyse, und die Polymerisation, welche auch bei der Verdauung und dem Stoffwechsel stattfinden.
