Im Hintergrund des Seminars steht die Diagnose, dass Beschwerden über Diskriminierung und Gewalt nicht nur „Reaktionen“ auf einzelne Vorfälle sind, sondern Zugänge zum Funktionsmodus institutioneller Macht: Wer sich beschwert, betritt häufig die „geschlossenen Türen“ von Verfahren, Gremien, Zuständigkeiten und Aktenlogiken, in denen Unrecht bearbeitet, umcodiert oder auch zum Verschwinden gebracht wird. Der Fokus liegt auf vergeschlechtlichten Diskriminierungserfahrungen in Organisationen wie Bildungseinrichtungen, Verwaltung oder Arbeitswelt – und darauf, wie institutionelle Prozesse Beschwerden individualisieren, entpolitisieren oder als „Einzelfälle“ rahmen.
Welche Kosten werden dem Beschweren zugeschrieben (Warnungen, Karrierefolgen, Isolation), welche Kosten entstehen durch Nicht-Beschwerde, und wie wird die Beschwerdeführende affektiv delegitimiert (z. B. als „überempfindlich“, „strafend“, „Spaßverderberin“)? Vorrangiges Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, ein soziologisch und machtkritisch präzises Instrumentarium zu entwickeln, um Beschwerden als Schnittstelle von Erfahrung, Organisation und Macht zu analysieren – und um vergeschlechtlichte Diskriminierung nicht nur als Ereignis, sondern als institutionell hergestellte und verwaltete Realität zu verstehen.
