990069 PEP WORKSHOP Writing a succeful thesis by publications (WS) (SoSe 2026)

Contents, comment

This hands-on workshop supports PhD candidates who have decided or might decide to write a thesis by publication.

First, we discuss forms, benefits and challenges of writing a thesis by publication.

Transferring this to your own project, you can choose to set up, or revisit, your overall research plan, and to work with various strategies to organise your research ideas. In addition, you can start, or continue, to work on your current writing project, e.g., your research proposal, paper, abstract, introduction, etc.

To wrap it all up, you do a reality check to see how you can organise your time, energy resources, and writing project so you will finish it successfully, and on time.

At the end of the day, participants have

got to know different forms, the benefits & challenges of writing a thesis by publication;
decided which steps to take next on your research journey;
worked on the logical organisation of your research paper, and received feedback on it;
developed a more realistic idea of how you can get it all done.
