Die Philosophie der Politik untersucht die Natur des Politischen und Prinzipien seiner Gestaltung und fragt nach den normativen Organisations- und Legitimationsgrundlagen politischer Gemeinwesen und Institutionen. Das Seminar untersucht Höhepunkte der Theoriebildung seit der Antike: Aristoteles, Machiavelli, Hobbes, Kant, Nozick und Rawls und konzentriert sich dabei auf Grundbegriffe und Grundfragen wie: Begriffe von Politik; Macht; Herrschaft; Gesellschaftsvertrag; politische Gerechtigkeit; Demokratie; Grenzen der Politik.
Für eine Leistungsbescheinigung (im BA- oder Master of Education-Studiengang) wird ein Portfolio (wird in der Veranstaltung bekannt gegeben), für einen Leistungsnachweis (im Magister- oder Lehramts-Studiengang) wird nach Absprache i.d.R. eine Hausarbeit (10-20 Seiten) erwartet.

Magister- und Lehramts-Studiengänge: Zwischenprüfung.

Die Literatur wird zu Beginn des Semesters in Form eines Readers zum Selbstkostenpreis zur Verfügung gestellt.
