Teaching the basics and concepts of nature conservation and ecosystem restoration. After an introduction to the basics and current issues / major projects of nature conservation (recorded lecture), different nature conservation and restoration projects in the vicinty of Bielefeld are vividly presented on day excursions (1 day in April, 1 day in July, 1 day in September, 3 days during the block practical phase 3rd-14th August). Moreover, introduction to the use and measurement of ecosystem services is given during the practical phase and practised with the portfolio work concerning ecological restoration options for the campus greenspace.
Vermittlung der Grundlagen und Konzepte des Naturschutzes und der Ökosystemwiederherstellung. Nach einer Einführung in die Grundlagen und aktuelle Themen/wichtige Projekte des Naturschutzes (Aufzeichnung einer Vorlesung) werden verschiedene Naturschutz- und Wiederherstellungsprojekte in der Umgebung von Bielefeld im Rahmen von Tagesexkursionen (je ein Tag im April, Juli und September sowie drei Tage während der Blockpraktikumsphase vom 3. bis 14. August) anschaulich vorgestellt. Darüber hinaus erfolgt in der Praktikumsphase eine Einführung in die Nutzung und Messung von Ökosystemleistungen, die anhand der Portfolioarbeit zu ökologischen Wiederherstellungsoptionen für die Campusgrünfläche geübt wird.

Knowledge of the diversity of forms of organisms is a key skill in ecology. Refreshing and expanding species knowledge in the appropriately offered courses and small field trips is recommended.
Kenntnisse der Formenvielfalt der Organismen sind eine Schlüsselkompetenz in der Ökologie. Eine Wiederauffrischung und Erweiterung der Artenkenntnis in den entsprechend angebotenen Lehrveranstaltungen und kleinen Exkursionen wird empfohlen.
