In der Vorlesung wird ein Überblick geboten über die wichtigsten und häufigsten psychischen Störungen wie Depression, Angsstörungen, Suchterkrankungen und Schizophrenie. Dabei werden die Grundlagen der Epidemiologie und Äthiologie (insbesondere psychologische und biologische Modelle) vorgestellt. Interventionsmethoden sind kein Thema dieser Veranstaltung.

Die Veranstaltung ist auf 200 TeilnehmerInnen begrenzt.
Studierende mit Kernfach Psychologie sollten das Seminar „Grundlagen der Klinischen Psychologie (M.1) besucht haben.

Die Modulprüfung wird durch eine Klausur im Umfang von 90 Minuten über die Inhalte von M.1 und M.2 am Ende des Moduls erbracht.
