In this seminar, we will explore central texts of American Gothic literature with a particular focus on analyzing and interpreting literary texts. The seminar aims to strengthen the fundamental skills of literary analysis within a context-oriented framework. Students will engage in close reading and practice the use of literary terminology, methodological approaches, and theoretical perspectives while analyzing and interpreting a range of literary forms, including poetry, drama, and narrative texts, produced by American Gothic writers.
