Gegenstand des Kolloquiums ist die reflexiv-diskursive Auseinandersetzung mit fachdidaktischen Perspektiven und Erkenntnissen sowie fachlichen Bedingungen und Inhalten, die auch in kontrastierender Absicht realisiert wird. Inhaltlich kann es gehen um: die Historie des Faches, Curricula und deren Inhalte bzw. Inhaltsfelder, fachdidaktische Modelle und Konzepte, fachdidaktische Diskurse zu Begründungen, Zielen und Absichten des Faches sowie seinen Besonderheiten hinsichtlich intra- und interdisziplinärerer Vielfalt sowie Methodik. Ziel ist der Aufbau einer reflektierten Vorstellung zur Qualität des Pädagogikunterrichts und die Befähigung zu dessen kritisch-konstruktiver Betrachtung.
