Die Vorlesung zielt darauf ab, ein gewisses Grundverständnis für rechtliche und finanztechnische Fragestellungen zu vermittlen, welche bei einem Exportvertrag (größeren Zuschnitts) immer wieder vorkommen. Nach Darstellung der einschlägigen kollisionsrechtlichen Fragestellungen werden die Einzelheiten von "clean payment", Zahlung gegen Dokumente, Akkreditive und Bankgarantien erörtert. Eingebettet wird dies in die Darstellung des Systems der Hermes-Kreditsicherungen für Ausfuhrbürgschaften und Ausfuhrgewährleistungen, einschließlich spezieller Fragen der Refinanzierung, wie etwa Forfaitierungen.
