In this class we are going to strategically work our way through the texts of Michel Foucault, one of the most prolific and important philosophers and theoreticians of the 20th century. His works have influenced literary studies, social and cultural studies and many other research fields and added a large body of terminology to our toolkits. Together we will explore how Foucault's ideas have been - and continue to be - useful for research in British and American Studies.
Students in the FsB 2017 should have completed BM1 and BM2 before attending Social and Cultural Studies.
Students in the FsB 2022 need to have passed the Language Proficiency Test before attending this class.
I recommend that students in the MEd (FsB 2022) who attended this seminar in their BA for PM2, attend a different seminar for this element in the MEd module Profil4.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
