Der inhaltliche Kern der Veranstaltung richtet sich auf die empirische Auseinandersetzung mit der Informationsstrukturierung. Sowohl die Gliederung von Sätzen als auch von Texten unterliegt bestimmten Strukturen, wie Hintergrund, Fokus, Kommentar, etc. Neben der theoretischen Auseinandersetzung mit den Prinzipien der Informationsstruktur des Deutschen erlernen die Studierenden unterschiedliche Methoden, wie die theoretischen Annahmen sprachwissenschaftlich in der Schule untersucht werden können. Mögliche Fragen für die entstehenden Studienprojekte sind: Welche Vorgaben und Methoden werden in den Lehrwerken/Unterrichtsmaterialen zum Erwerb der Informationsstruktur eingesetzt? Wie kann man selbst Materialen für den Unterricht entwickeln? Wie lässt sich der Wissenstand der Schüler diesbezüglich ermitteln?
