Fundierte Kenntnisse medizinischer Terminologie sind die Grundlage für alle übergeordneten und krankheitsbezogenen Lernziele im Studium, die eine Verwendung medizinischer Terminologie voraussetzen, wie etwa das Erklären und Erläutern normaler Struktur und Funktion auf wissenschaftlicher Grundlage unter Verwendung medizinischer Terminologie (vgl. NKLM VII.1a-01). Fundierte Kenntnisse medizinischer Terminologie sind ebenso Grundlage für alle zukünftige fachsprachliche Kommunikation.

Die Studierenden können

  • die sprachlichen und historischen Hintergründe sowie die sozialen Implikationen ausgewählter Ausdrücke reflektieren
  • haben offene Fragen zum Selbststudium der medizinischen Terminologie geklärt.


In diesem Seminar wird an einzelnen Begriffen die Relevanz einer Auseinandersetzung mit medizinischer Fachsprache erörtert. Dabei wird sowohl auf die sprachlichen als auch auf die historischen Hintergründe ausgewählter Ausdrücke eingegangen und für deren sozialen Implikationen sensibilisiert. Außerdem werden zentrale Inhalte des Selbststudiums der medizinischen Terminologie (Einführung dazu in der VL "Medizinische Terminologie") an Beispielen besprochen und auf Fragen der Studierenden eingegangen.
