Die symmetrische Gruppe -- Algebra und Kombinatorik
In dem Seminar sollen anhand der symmetrischen Gruppen verschiedene Grundbegriffe vertieft und erweitert werden, die typischerweise in den ersten Algebra-Vorlesungen eingeführt werden. Fragestellungen, die uns leiten werden, sind etwa Folgende: Was sind die (maximalen) Untergruppen der symmetrischen Gruppen? Kann man jede symmetrische Gruppe als Galoisgruppe realisieren? Wenn ja, wie? Was sind die Sylowuntergruppen, was die (irreduziblen) Darstellungen der symmetrischen Gruppen?
Konkrete mögliche Themen für Bachelorarbeiten:
- primitive Permutationsgruppen
- symmetrische und alternierende Gruppen als Galoisgruppen
- Sylowuntergruppen der symmetrischen Gruppen
- Darstellungstheorie der symmetrischen Gruppen
- Symmetrische Funktionen und Schurpolynome
- Hallpolynome
- kombinatorische Algorithmen (Robinson-Schenstedt-Algorithmus, Jeu de Taquin etc.)

Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme sind algebraisches Grundwissen etwa im Umfang der Vorlesungen Algebra 1 und Algebra 2 sowie Bereitschaft zur Arbeit mit englischsprachigen Quellen.
