Dem Anfangsunterricht wird seit Bestehen der Grundschule eine Sonderstellung sowie eine spezifische Aufgabe innerhalb des Primarstufenunterrichts zugeschrieben. In diesem Seminar soll es daher u.a. um den Übergang von der Kita in die Grundschule gehen (Transitionsmodelle) sowie um Aufgaben und Qualitätsmerkmale des Anfangsunterrichts. Darüber hinaus werden die Konzepte „Schulreife“ und „Schulfähigkeit“ sowie die (Neue) Schuleingangsphase und Jahrgangsgemischtes Lernen thematisiert.
