Der Blick auf Biographien von Komponisten und weiteren Quellen ermöglicht die Rekonstruktion von Lebensbedingungen und künstlerischer Auseinandersetzung in den individuellen Kompositionswerkstätten sowie die weitere Kontextualisierung von musikalischen Werken. In der didaktisch ausgerichteten Basiswerkstatt Musik sollen Kriterien erarbeitet werden, welche Biographien für Grundschulkinder relevant werden können. Darüber hinaus soll anhand einer konkreten Komponisten-Biographie das Thema für den Schulbezug vordidaktisiert werden, indem die Teilnehmer eine begründete Auswahl von Bild- und Tondokumenten einschließlich kleiner Einführungstexte und Aufgaben für Schülerinnen und Schüler erstellen.
