230356 Empirische Computermodelle (S) (WiSe 2015/2016)

In der Wissenschaft werden oft Computermodelle benutzt, um aus komplizierten Theorien und Hypothesen Vorhersagen zu generieren und diese zu testen. Computermodelle haben auch eine “heuristische” Funktion, indem sie uns helfen zu verstehen, wo es in unserem Wissen noch Lücken gibt und uns auch alternative Theorien „ausprobieren“ lassen. In diesem Kurs werden einige bekannte Computermodelle (u.a. aus der Psycholinguistik) analysiert. Außerdem werden die verschiedenen Arten von Modellen (u.a. quantitative, qualitative und Simulationsmodelle) vorgestellt und es wird darauf eingegangen, wie man diese Modelle formuliert, evaluiert und mit empirischen Daten testet.

Requirements for participation, required level

Voraussetzungen: Empirische Methoden I und II, Grundlagen der Psycholinguistik.
Wünschenswert: Kentnisse der Komputerprogrammierung (mindestens 1 Sprache) oder spreadsheetprogrammierung (z.B. Excel).
